In the beginning, an activity is an idea. However, to ensure our programme continues to meet our standards, we need to continually adapt and innovate our guest offer. This must be done while ensuring we work hand-in-hand with applicable resources of the World Organization of the Scout Movement as well as the challenges of engaging young people today and in the future. Besides, to put any idea into action, the programme needs tools and materials such as ropes, climbing gear, GPS, construction wood, games equipment, etc. Help directly to make our programme a safe and fun experience for our scouts!
What is KISC?
Kandersteg International Scout Centre’s story began at the World Scout Jamboree in London in 1920. Here, Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, spoke of his dream of a place where Scouts from all over the world could meet, learn from each other and live in peace all year round.
Every year, KISC is host to 12’000 guests from all around the globe, totalling to around 70’000 overnights, meaning the Centre is one of the largest tourist facilities in the Bernese Oberland.
