As a 2023 Promoter, you will represent and promote Kandersteg International Scout Centre’s Centenary. KISC has a range of events taking place in 2023 to celebrate its 100th birthday – Scouts/Guides are needed to spread awareness of them.
You will work under KISC’s PR & Marketing Manager in a team of other 2023 Promoters. If your country has an official KISC Ambassador, you will coordinate your effort with them. You will be a reliable point of contact in your home country, represent KISC, contribute to PR & Marketing campaigns, and assist in the recruitment of Guests and Volunteers.
You will be appointed by KISC and will need proof of your National Scout or Guide Membership.
You must be at least 18 years old
We’re looking for people with a good network in their National Scout/Guide Organisation or a strong digital influence.
You must be able to communicate well in spoken and written English
You must be able to set aside 3 – 4 hours per week for this role

Skilled in using social media and understanding its different features
Able to translate text from English, into your native language (if you’re multilingual)
Confident in public speaking and presenting
Well connected online and in your National Scout/ Guide Organisation
Work closely with the PR & Marketing Team as well as others at KISC
Work with other 2023 teams and attend monthly meetings as part of the wider 2023 team
Be proactive and positive in the promotion of KISC.
Produce digital content to promote KISC’s events e.g. social media posts, blogs, videos, livestreams
Translate materials into your language when needed
Help maintain links between your National Scout or Guide Association and KISC.
Represent KISC at national and regional events.
Attend and contribute towards Scouting events in your country on behalf of KISC (networking).
Regularly share ideas and best practices with other 2023 Promoters in the team.
This position will be managed by the PR & Marketing Manager at KISC.
If your country has an Ambassador, your efforts will also be coordinated with them.
This position will fall under the Marketing and Communications team in the 2023 Remote Volunteers team structure.
This is considered a remote volunteering position. You are invited to support the Centenary remotely, and as recognition of your contribution, you will receive a special KISC t-shirt and neckerchief. For more information about KISC 2023, please visit: https://2023.kisc.ch/
Training
The post holder will be required to undertake WOSM ‘Safe from Harm’ training.
